Reliable Pin Headers

The pin headers from Samytronic offer a cost-effective and reliable solution for connecting PCBs to other PCBs or devices. This standardized connector with a 2.54 mm pitch is available in a straight version and is compatible with almost all mating connectors of the 2.54RM family (female headers). Here you can find matching connectors:

Surface Finishing

All contacts are generally coated with a nickel barrier layer of approximately 1.27 – 2.5 μm before being tinned or gold-plated. Tin plating is done with pure tin. Gold plating is more complex; for a 1μ" (0.025μm) layer, the entire pin is coated. For gold layers of 3μ" (0.076μm) or more, gold is applied only to specific areas (contact surfaces) using a specialized process. These areas can be customized according to customer requirements. The rule of thumb is, the less area that needs to be thick gold-plated, the more cost-effective the connector will be.

Secure Soldering

A pin-in-hole connection is generally more robust than a pin-on-pad connection. Thus, the connector withstands higher stresses compared to a comparable connector with surface-mount technology. The pin lengths can be freely chosen on both the contact side and the soldering side. These pin headers can also be used to connect two connectors together.
